Dear Parents and Guardians,
to Gilson Brown Elementary for the 2010-2011 school year!! I hope that you and your family are enjoying the summer and I look forward to working with you again this year. We are anticipating a wonderful year of learning at Gilson Brown School.
Please remember our school hours are now 8:00 am - 2:10 pm.
Transportation
We will NOT change your child's transportation plan at any time during the school year unless we hear from you by phone or in writing. We never change a child's transportation because the child tells us they are doing something different. We must hear from the parent or guardian before the end of the day, preferably by 2:00 pm. If you will be transporting your child by car, please drop your child off on the right side of the front driveway. This is for drop off only. There is no parking on the school bus side of the driveway. Since this is where the buses unload, cars may not park or stand in this area, only drop off students and leave. Students may enter the building after 7:15 am. There is no supervision for children before 7:15am. If a parent needs to come in to the school in the morning, they should park on the left side of the driveway or in the front parking lot and use the main entrance. We will use the same security system of buzzing visitiors in to the building. Visitors should then go to the office and check in. This is also what parents should do who bring students in tardy. Students will not be admitted tardy without an adult.
After school Pick-up Procedures
After school, parents should park on the playground at the back of the building and come in to the building to pick up children in the gym. The drive to the back area will be open to you beginning at 1:45 pm after recess. Parents will be admitted to the building at 2:00 pm. Once in the building, we ask that parents wait to be called to the classrooms to sign children out.
** All children MUST be signed out to the end of the day it they are
picked up by a parent or other designated adult.
Thank you for your cooperation.
