Student Achievement
Exemplary schools provide a balance of core curriculum, set high standards for student achievement, and provide state-of-the-art technology to help achieve these goals. Such schools clearly define expected outcomes for students and regularly monitor student progress. With the help of the professional learning community, the exemplary school provides students with opportunities and assistance to effectively transition through high school to early adulthood. In order to achieve these goals, student achievement will be enhanced by the following:
- Curriculum which requires mastery of academic information and opportunities to participate in programs for career orientation. In necessary cases, remediation will help ensure mastery of academic information
- Active involvement by the students in their own learning which will encourage them to set high goals in the areas of academic, intellectual, social, physical, and emotional growth
- Technology which will be an integral part of the learning process through the use of computers, updated software for all areas of instruction, and communication and audiovisual equipment in every classroom
- Mutual respect and responsibility which are shared by students and staff to provide the environment, support, and necessary guidance/instructional strategies that address different learning styles
