AHS Cell Phone Policy

• Students are allowed to carry their cell phones in their purses or pockets.

• Students must have their cell phone turned off while in class or in the hallway.

• Teachers will include a cell phone policy in their classroom management plan.

• According to their classroom management plan, teachers will refer students who have their cell phones out during class time for progressive discipline. 

• 1st offense – students will pick up their phone at the end of the day from the appropriate Discipline Office in addition to detention.

• 2nd offense – parents will pick up their child’s cell phone at the end of the day from the appropriate Discipline Office in addition to progressive discipline.

• 3rd offense – parents will pick up their child’s cell phone at the end of the semester from the appropriate Discipline Office in addition to progressive discipline.

• Students who have their cell phone out during testing (regardless of the excuse), will receive a “0” for the test/exam and will be referred for progressive discipline.
